Nobody importing food or fertilizer should be given a kobo of our foreign exchange from the Central Bank – President Buhari

President Buhari has stated that the Central Bank of Nigeria should not offer foreign exchange to anyone importing food or fertilizer into the country.

He made this statement in a recent tweet on his Instagram page where he vowed that the country will not pay a kobo of foreign reserves to import food or fertilizers.

He wrote;

I am restating it that nobody importing food or fertilizer should be given foreign exchange from the Central Bank. We will not pay a kobo of our foreign reserves to import food or fertilizer. We will instead empower local farmers and producers.
